Mr Darren Mumford has over 20 years' experience as both a teacher and a leader. He has held senior leadership roles since 2013 where he has led on areas such as curriculum design, reporting and assessment, data analysis, quality assurance, and staff development. He has completed the National Professional Qualification in Headship and is a trained BSO inspector and has completed training to be an OFSTED inspector in the UK. Mr Mumford completed the 3 year ‘Future Leaders’ course in 2018.
His recent role as Vice Principal in the UAE has included leading the whole school development plan and self-evaluation in a large bilingual international school, working with pupils from across the world. Whilst in the UAE, his school was awarded a ‘Very Good’ rating in its first-ever Ministry of Education inspection which is virtually unheard of within 3 years of opening. Before working in the UAE, he worked at another international school in Beijing.
Mr Mumford’s educational philosophy has always been ‘everyone achieves’. He has worked within many educational settings and has always striven to develop the whole child, creating nurturing, caring environments that have allowed pupils to find their ‘niche’. He believes Outstanding examination results are only part of the puzzle – resilience, communication, creativity, emotional intelligence, and well-being are just some of the attributes to ensure that pupils are “future ready”.
He also believes it is his responsibility to ensure that when pupils leave school, they have the qualifications and tools they need to be able to take the next steps in their lives.
