Will Xu graduated from the Wuhan University of Technology and achieved a bachelor’s degree in material shaping and control engineering. He has rich experience working in public schools, international schools, and bilingual schools. This year is his fifth-year teaching at Hiba School.
Under the guidance of his passion for education, he signed on as a Teach For China teacher after graduation, teaching in a junior high school in Dali Yunnan for two years. He found being a teacher is suitable for him and he enjoyed the time with the pupils. He also found he could develop a professional relationship with pupils naturally, acting as a friend and mentor to them. After that, he worked as a Coach Mentor at the a Chinese international school. He has had first-hand experience not only witnessing but also participating in how positive education is incorporated into the everyday life of students. He also actively involved himself in supporting students in learning, which enabled him to get familiar with teaching and learning in an international context.
Will Xu has a wide range of interests. He likes doing sports and reading. In addition to the junior middle school mathematics teacher certificate, he has also obtained the certificate of competency for health administrator and the financial planner certificate. Interdisciplinary learning and practical experience can give children a broader perspective on the world. He believes that every child has the potential to grow into a unique and independent individual. He will strive to discover their strengths and provide the appropriate environment for pupils to develop.
