Holistic Growth and

Comprehensive Development

At Hiba Academy Hangzhou, education extends beyond the classroom. We believe learning should permeate every aspect of life. Pupils have access to over 300 school activities across sports, arts, culture, technology and community service.

They build resilience on the sports field, confidence on stage, creativity in the arts, and curiosity in scientific inquiry and innovation. Through teamwork, leadership development, personal interests and self-discovery, pupils grow into well-rounded individuals with global perspectives.

Pastoral Care,

Comprehensive Support

At Hiba, we believe that a pupil's growth is determined not only by academic achievement but also by their sense of well-being and security. Pastoral care, as a key component of the Wellington system, provides pupils with structured support for their development. The programme covers six core areas: physical health, positive relationships, self-awareness, engagement, worldview, and purpose and meaning. Pupils are encouraged to reflect on real-life challenges, explore practical strategies, and apply what they learn to their everyday lives.

Hiba Academy Hangzhou Houses

Si House and Ming House

The House system also plays a crucial role in a pupil's growth. From the moment they join Hiba, each pupil becomes part of a House, where they form friendships and develop a sense of responsibility and pride through participation in a wide range of academic, artistic and sporting activities. Teamwork, competitions, and leadership roles help pupils build confidence, develop leadership skills, and cultivate a positive, proactive character.

Boarding life further enhances the depth of pastoral care. Hiba's boarding Houses are managed by experienced domestic and international Housemasters and Housemistresses, providing pupils in Year 3 and above with a supportive environment that balances study, self-discipline and daily living. After-school activities and guidance from mentors help boarders make steady progress academically, socially, and personally, fostering independence and maturity.

A Rich and Engaging School Life

Life at Hiba is rich in variety, with activities that span sports, arts, academics and culture. Pupils participate in daily clubs and team activities, cultivating skills and teamwork through their interests. Carefully curated thematic weeks and celebrations—such as Literature Week, Mathematics Week and Science Week—expand pupils' academic horizons in engaging ways. Culture Diversity Day allows pupils to experience global cultures, fostering cross-cultural understanding and respect. Seasonal events, including Spring Festival celebrations and the Summer Carnival, inspire creativity, expression and a sense of community.

To realise genuine holistic education, Hiba Academy Hangzhou has created a modern campus that combines international vision with aesthetic sensibility. Inspired by the 18th-century Victorian architecture of Wellington College in the UK, the campus is elegant yet contemporary. Teaching buildings, libraries, science laboratories, theatres, and sports facilities provide pupils with outstanding spaces for both academic and extracurricular pursuits.
