Located in the Xiaoshan Science and Technology Polis, Hiba Academy Hangzhou, a member of Wellington College (Education) China - Hangzhou, provides a world-class international bilingual education ranging from early years to sixth form for pupils aged 2- 18 through the Hiba values that originated from Wellington College UK: kindness, responsibility, respect, courage and integrity. At the nursery stage, we deeply integrate the English Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with China's Guidelines for Learning and Development for Children Aged 3–6, creating an early education curriculum that combines international perspectives with Hiba's distinctive approach.

In the Primary and Senior Schools, we follow the national curriculum standards and Zhejiang provincial requirements, while in the Sixth Form, pupils pursue internationally recognised IGCSE and A Level programmes. Wellington College in England was founded by Queen Victoria in 1859 as a national monument to Britain's most renowned military figure, the Duke of Wellington, Field Marshal Arthur Wellesley, a statesman and soldier who also served the country with distinction twice as Prime Minister. The College is one of the most respected schools in the United Kingdom and one of its greatest educational institutions, pioneering, innovating and transforming education for children.  

Recent research by a leading UK consultancy into the educational backgrounds of world-famous people listed in data publications, such as Who's Who, revealed that 14% graduated from ten private schools in the UK.  Wellingtonians were among the most influential figures in politics, economics, culture, science and technology, with 173 alumni featured in the publication as mentioned earlier.  The College's academic standards are among the highest in the UK, resulting in a significant number of outstanding graduates attending prestigious institutions of higher learning, such as Oxford and Cambridge. 

In 2009, Wellington College Education (China) was established. After years of research, Hiba was established to provide bespoke bicultural education for pupils in China, to become the world's leading bilingual school and education group.

The Class of 2025 once again demonstrated the depth and quality of a Hiba education, with 77% of pupils being admitted to universities ranked within the top 20 of the QS World University Rankings and 85% to institutions in the global top 50. A total of RMB 3 million in scholarships was awarded. Prestigious institutions such as University College London, the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Sydney, and King's College London extended offers to our pupils.

In the 2025 IGCSE examinations, Hiba pupils achieved remarkable results, with 35.4% of grades at A* and 61.2% at A*/A—well above the average for pupils in the UK. 

Our pupils have also received international accolades, including the 'Top in the World' and 'Top in China' awards across multiple subjects, further enhancing the school's academic distinction.
