After completing their nursery journey, children can transition into Hiba Academy Hangzhou, where they begin their primary school journey in Grades 1 through 6. After primary school, children enter Junior High from Grades 7-9. In Grade 9, children begin a vital transition year because they will complete their IGCSE examinations in Grade 10. After completing their IGCSE, Hiba pupils proceed to their A Levels, graduating in Grade 12 from our Sixth Form, well-prepared to enter the world's top universities.
The A Level (Advanced Level) is the qualification taken by 18-year-old students in the UK and is the most common qualification in international schools worldwide. It is also the most popular international curriculum in China (the number of pupils in China studying A Levels greatly exceeds those studying IB and other international curricula). Pupils typically study A Levels in three subjects. Some pupils may be tempted to study four or more subjects; however, it is worth bearing in mind that almost all universities will give offers based on three subjects, where the quality of the grades is given far more importance than the quantity of subjects taken. This allows pupils to specialise in and study subjects in depth, genuinely preparing them for the transition to university.
Learning at Hiba Academy Hangzhou will provide pupils upon graduation with internationally recognised qualifications that are applicable worldwide. They have equal value in the UK, USA, Canada and many other countries. Indeed, Wellington College Education (China) schools boast an excellent track record of pupils securing places in Ivy League universities in the USA, along with leading universities in the UK.
